2019 Women's World Cup match

The U.S. Women's National Team opens its defense of the World Cup title with a match against Thailand on Tuesday in Reims, Naeher faces a Thailand side that has scored just three goals in its last five matches combined.

After four long years since the United States Women’s National Team hoisted the World Cup trophy , the team is once again poised to perform at the biggest stage and make history once again

And for the first time since 2003 the team will not have Hope Solo in goal. Alyssa Naeher, a 31-year-old who has 24 cleansheets in 45 appearances with the USWNT, is taking over for Solo, who had her national team contract terminated after the 2016 Olympics.

The Netherlands will look to get their first win in the group to keep up with Canada as the Dutch hope to make some noise in 2019, they will sit back and try to counter to steal a point or a win.

The match kickoff from Stade Auguste-Delaune is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
